Lunch, Snacks and Drinks
School Lunches
A freshly prepared school lunch is available every day and is cooked on site by our school chef. Children may choose from:
- the hot main course of the day;
- a filled jacket potato; or
- a sandwich with a choice of fillings.
Our menus are planned to provide nutritious, balanced meals and meet the statutory School Food Standards.
The current prices are:
- Nursery meal: £1.70
- Other paid school meals: £2.70
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme. Children in other year groups may also qualify for benefits-related free school meals.
Special meals, such as Christmas dinner, may incur an additional charge. Parents and carers will be informed of the cost in advance.
Parents and carers must inform the school about any allergies, intolerances, medical dietary requirements or other dietary needs. Please contact the school whenever your child’s needs change.
Snacks
Children in Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 are provided with a healthy fruit or vegetable snack each school day.
Children who bring a snack from home should bring a healthy option, such as fruit or yoghurt. Please do not send sweets, chocolate, crisps or biscuits for snack time.
Milk
Children under the age of five are entitled to free school milk.
Parents and carers who would like their child to continue receiving milk after their fifth birthday can register and make payment through the Cool Milk website:
Water
Fresh drinking water is available throughout the school day, and water is provided at lunchtime.
Children should bring a clearly labelled bottle containing fresh water. For health reasons, bottles brought into school should contain water only rather than cordial, juice or fizzy drinks.
