Vision and Values

Our school vision is:

Enjoy Learning, Achieve Success

Our school values are:

  • Kindness

  • Engagement

  • Collaboration

  • Resilience

At Thwaites School, our vision and values are at the heart of school life. They guide how we learn, behave and treat one another, helping every child to feel valued and to make a positive contribution to our school community.

Our values were chosen by the children and staff of Thwaites School. They are explored during our weekly Values assemblies through discussions, scenarios and social stories, helping children understand how they can demonstrate each value through their words, choices and actions.

Children who demonstrate our school values can be rewarded with Rainbow Notes—our own school currency. Children can spend their Rainbow Notes in the Thwaites School Rainbow Shop, choosing from items such as stationery, games and toys. They may buy a small item or save their notes for something of greater value, helping them develop patience, responsibility, decision-making and an early understanding of money.

Originally opened by Mr Savage and Mrs Tyson from the Village Hall in the summer term of 2024, our Rainbow Shop continues to go from strength to strength. It opens every Friday lunchtime, with pupils taking responsibility for its day-to-day running.
