Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is at the heart of our culture at Thwaites School. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and are committed to providing a safe, supportive environment in which children are protected from harm and feel confident speaking to a trusted adult.

We regularly review our safeguarding training, policies and procedures to ensure that they reflect current statutory guidance and the needs of our pupils.

Our safeguarding team is:

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr M. Redhead
  • Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs J. Ross
  • Safeguarding Link Governor: Mrs R. Procter

Operation Encompass

Thwaites School works in partnership with Operation Encompass, a police and education safeguarding partnership. It enables the school to receive timely information when a child may have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse, allowing appropriate support to be offered.

Further information is available from the Operation Encompass website.

Safeguarding Documents

Our current Child Protection Policy and Procedures and other relevant safeguarding documents are available below.
